Preparations for the newest LNHA housing development are underway – In September 2023, LNHA was awarded $7.5 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development as a recipient of HUD’s Indian Housing Block Grant Competitive Competition. This funding will begin Phase 1 of the development of a housing subdivision on the Olsen Property, located at the southern end of the Reservation off of Lummi View Drive.
This subdivision will add 10 duplexes and 12 single family homes to the area for a grand total of 32 new housing units varying in size, ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms (see image). This will be a low-to-moderate income neighborhood, with a mixture of rental and homeownership options.
Site-clearing is anticipated to be completed this year, and construction will begin in 2025. Updates to follow as progress is made.
