JOB SUMMARY: The Construction Laborer II provides support to the Project Construction Manager daily. Performing construction labor assigned tasks and other associated activities for the Lummi Housing Authority Development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position works at various Lummi Housing properties. Work is performed outdoors. The incumbent is exposed to construction site hazards and inclement weather.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Arrive to work properly dressed for manual labor and perform all tasks with proper safety measures to prevent damage or injury.
• Load, unload, and transport site materials, tools, and equipment around the work site.
• Clear debris, prepare work areas, and lay out tools and equipment.
• Assist any contractors on site as instructed by the Project Manager.
• Remove any trash, pick up nails, screws, or extra materials laying around the job site to ensure a safe and organized work site.
• Operate hand and power tools and assist with machinery under supervision of the Project Construction Manager.
• Operate small machinery as needed.
• Assist in the preparation and installation of site utilities for the project.
• Assist in interior and exterior finish work tasks such as; appliance installation, bathroom accessories installation, finish work details, etc. as instructed.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
• Good mechanical skills to operate light construction equipment such as loaders, forklifts, and several other tools that are used on construction sites.
• Good listening skills to follow instructions and ensure that they are executed efficiently and effectively.
• Good organizational skills to keep inventory of materials being delivered and ensure that tools used throughout the day be stored each night in an organized manner.
• Self-motivated and able to work diligently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift minimum of 35 lbs.
• Ability to work a varied schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years’ work experience in manual labor and preferably in Construction.
• 3 years’ experience operating small light equipment
• Possession of a valid Washington State Drivers License.
o Must be eligible to be insured by LNHA’s Insurance Policy to operate a LNHA Vehicle
• Native American/Lummi/Veteran preference policy applies.

Requirements:
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol test to be eligible for and maintain employment, as required by the LNHA Drug & Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
• Position requires Criminal Background Check.
